The journey begins...

I am at PDX waiting to board my flight to Kalispell where I will meet one half of my family for vacation at Flathead lake. I am so relieved to have made it through the move, the last 22 days of work, boarding the kitties, and the tying up of loose ends.  It was a challenge to say the least, but the sweetness of being at this end is completely worth it.  Somehow I whittled down my 'stuff' to two bags, one of which I will need to ditch before flying to Italy August 4th.  I will take one backpack, as I do not want to be weighted down unnecessarily.

Friends have helped me out generously along the way the last two months with storage space, art purchases, loans, gifts, lifts, burritos, and beds to sleep in. To all of you, OH MY GOD, thank you.  Even though I freaked out a little this week at the idea of not working and having steady income, I know at this moment it is necessary.   The release of the old...jobs, apartment, city, way of life....is absolutely necessary to allow the change I have felt coming for years.  But timing really IS everything, and to be at the place where all the elements converged to push me out of where I was and into this seat at PDX feels quite right.
